In the article, Tommy focused on the steel industry's continuing shift to new arc furnace technology and how it has enabled the industry to move away from fixed locations around iron ore deposits in the Great Lakes region. He emphasized the Gulf Coast's advantages in meeting the facility's needs for access to electricity, natural gas, port infrastructure, rail connectivity, and proximity to industrial customers who consume the finished product.
