Asher J. Friend, a partner in the firm's Corporate & Securities Practice Group in the New Orleans office, participated as a panelist at Innovation Louisiana 2013 held at the New Orleans BioInnovation Center on November 18-20, 2013. Asher presented on the panel titled, "Outside Funding 101: What Every Entrepreneur Needs to Know," which discussed angel investors, venture capital, strategic partnerships, and other investment channels that exist for growth startups, as well as some of the regulatory issues that affect how and from whom you can seek investment. He also participated in the "Term Sheet Face-Off: A Mock Negotiation," which brought together an experienced entrepreneur and an investor, together with their respective counsel, who went head-to-head to negotiate a term sheet outlining the framework and conditions for the startup to receive an investment.
