This month, we visited our nation’s capital with the Mississippi Bankers Association for its annual “fly-in,” which is a week when Mississippi bankers hear from federal regulators as to their enforcement priorities and speak with their congressional delegation as to their bank policy priorities. It is always an informative and enlightening week, but what stuck with us this time was how much the tone of the meetings had evolved over the past few years, with discussions feeling particularly congenial and collaborative.
