Kirk, an associate in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group, both in the New Orleans office, successfully tried a maritime personal injury case before Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown in the Eastern District of Louisiana. The plaintiff sued firm client, River Ventures, for negligence Under Section 905 B of the LONGSHORE Act and another party sought contractual indemnity from River Ventures. Judge Brown issued a 28-page ruling in favor of River Ventures dismissing the plaintiff’s case and the indemnity claim was abated.
