On March 3-4, litigation lawyers Bob Tucker and Stan Millan presented at the Lockheed Martin IP Practice Group Conference held at the JW Marriot Hotel in New Orleans. The forum was held for in house counsel of Lockheed Martin Corporation and its subsidiaries to listen to renowned authorities discuss intellectual property-related issues and best practices for dealing with these issues. Mr. Tucker presented the topic, "Inadvertent Infringement of Trademarks and Copyrights; Fair Use of Trademarks and Copyrights; and Misappropriation of Name/Likeness." He addressed various issues to be considered before creating and using company materials, advertisements, promotional videos, and the right of publicity issues. Mr. Millan's topic was " Louisiana as Choice of Law: What So Bad About Being Civil?" and specially addressed Louisiana civil law and what it means when Louisiana is the choice of law in a contract. Also presenting at the conference were Randy Heald, Assistant General Counsel/Patent Counsel at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, and Charles Harris, Assistant counsel, Intellectual Property, Office of Naval Research.
