Sara Kuebel, a partner in the Maritime Practice Group, together with Bob Toney, chairman of National Maritime Services, co-presented a CLE course to the New Orleans Bar Association's Maritime & International Law Committee on April 8, 2026. The session titled "Vessel Arrest & Custody, Eastern District of Louisiana" offered insight into the legal and practical process for vessel arrests and seizures, including a discussion of the legal prerequisites for arresting a vessel or maritime property, the filing requirements under Rule C and local court rules, as well as the actual process for arresting and taking custody of a vessel.
