David Fink is special counsel in the Litigation Practice Group and a member of the commercial disputes team. He handles commercial and complex civil litigation for businesses and for public and governmental entities.
David has spent his career in the courtroom representing private businesses and public institutions in a wide range of civil disputes. He began his career in New Orleans and now brings more than 15 years of Louisiana litigation experience to the Lafayette area. His matters have run from general and complex civil litigation to commercial cases and disputes involving governmental agencies.
On the commercial side, David advises clients across the full arc of a business relationship — from the development and negotiation of contracts through the disputes that sometimes follow. He has also represented clients in internal investigations and insurance defense matters.
A substantial part of David’s practice has centered on public and governmental bodies. He has represented a parish hospital service district, a parish district attorney’s office, and a city court constable’s office, developing a deep familiarity with the laws that govern public entities in Louisiana, including the open meetings and public records laws. David also has significant experience serving as a court-appointed special master, a neutral role in which he assists courts in managing complex or contested pretrial matters.
