Gabrielle Ramirez is an associate in the Litigation Practice Group.
Gabrielle focuses her practice on a variety of litigation and transactional matters, including those related to construction claims, bankruptcy proceedings, and contract disputes in the energy industry. Her experience includes advocating for her clients in commercial disputes and breach of contract cases in the construction, energy, and retail sectors. Her recent engagements include litigation related to a $1.4 billion design-build project for construction of a water plant, involving $25 million in claims for delay, acceleration, and scope increases; resolution of $65 million in claims related to delays and construction defects on a $750 million project for construction of a polypropylene plant; and the successful restructuring of an offshore drilling company with debts in excess of $1 billion resulting from COVID-19 disruptions to the offshore drilling market.
She has experience in both federal and state courts. Additionally, Gabrielle is particularly adept at written advocacy, having secured favorable rulings and settlements for her clients by strategically engaging in dispositive motion practice in state, federal, and appellate courts.
Prior to joining Jones Walker, Gabrielle practiced in the litigation group of an Am Law 200 firm in the Houston office. She also served as a law clerk at the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas during law school.
Gabrielle is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Law, where she received her juris doctor degree, magna cum laude. During law school, Gabrielle served as the head teaching assistant and the senior managing editor of the Michigan State Law Review. Gabrielle also earned Jurisprudence Achievement Awards in research, writing, and advocacy and in advanced legal research. Gabrielle is also a graduate of Rice University, where she received her bachelor of arts, summa cum laude.
