Jude Bourque is special counsel in the Litigation Practice Group and a member of the Healthcare Industry Team. He represents healthcare providers in professional malpractice and related disputes in federal and state courts.
Jude is a highly experienced litigator who defends public and private hospitals, as well as individual physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, in medical malpractice cases. He represents clients in administrative hearings and jury and bench trials and appellate courts.
For nearly three decades, as a former senior litigator in the Medical Malpractice Section of the Louisiana Department of Justice, Litigation Division, Jude defended public healthcare providers in a broad range of lawsuits. At Jones Walker, he draws on his experience with administrative and judicial procedure to mount effective defenses and negotiate favorable settlements on behalf of his clients.
Since 2004, Jude has served as a program director and an instructor for Trial Skills and Deposition Skills Programs with NITA, the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. He has taught at programs from coast to coast, including the NITA National Trial Skills program, programs for federal and state government agencies, and the National Legal Service Training program. He has also taught customized, in-house training at major law firms across the United States and in Northern Ireland.
Jude has completed more than 25 triathlons, three half-marathons, the New York City Marathon, and the Marine Corps Marathon.
