Matthew Johnson is vice president of Baronne Title Co., Inc., Jones Walker’s Louisiana title insurance company affiliate. He is a member of the Corporate Practice Group and focuses on title matters and real estate transactions.


Matthew is a licensed title insurance agent in Louisiana and has written millions of dollars of title insurance for commercial and industrial real estate. He advises clients on a wide range of matters affecting insurability of title, including issues of conflicting servitude rights and oil, gas, and mineral encumbrances.

As vice president of Baronne Title, Matthew monitors, develops protocols for, and ensures title company compliance with Louisiana title insurance regulations and assists with title company organizational, administrative, and business strategy matters.

Prior to his current role, Matthew held senior positions at both the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority and Build Baton Rouge (the East Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority), focusing on economic development and the restoration of blighted and disinvested commercial and residential real estate.
