Grant Krag is an associate in the Corporate Practice Group and a member of the firm’s finance team. He is also a member of the firm’s Gaming Industry Team.

Grant’s practice centers on public finance transactions related to economic development projects, gaming law, economic development incentives, government and administrative law, and government relations.

Working with county and municipal governments throughout Mississippi, as well as the Mississippi Development Authority, Grant helps implement a range of economic incentives designed to support business growth and investment, including property and sales tax incentives. He also advises on specialized incentives associated with taxable and tax-exempt bond financings and has experience serving as bond and underwriter’s counsel for public finance clients.

Grant’s practice also includes work in the gaming industry, where he represents casino operators, investors, manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors in a broad range of legal, financing, and regulatory matters. He also has guided governmental authorities through competitive licensing selection processes for multibillion-dollar casino developments throughout the country.

Grant’s practical understanding of government operations is further informed by his prior public service experience. Before joining Jones Walker, he clerked for Judge Taylor B. McNeel of the US District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi and Presiding Judge Jack L. Wilson of the Mississippi Court of Appeals.

Prior to his clerkships, Grant spent nearly three years as in-house counsel for a Mississippi state agency, where he handled legislative drafting, employment disputes, contract review, and policy implementation.
