An accomplished corporate and transactional attorney, Raymond has sat in virtually every chair at the negotiating table. After beginning his career in the capital markets groups of national law firms, he went on to serve as general counsel and senior vice president of a private equity fund and to hold board and advisory roles at several energy portfolio companies. That combination — outside counsel, in-house leadership, and operating-company governance — shapes the way he counsels clients today: looking beyond the closing of a transaction toward the ways a business is built, financed, and ultimately sold.

Raymond's practice centers on middle-market mergers and acquisitions. He represents companies and private equity sponsors across the full transaction lifecycle, from formation and financing through acquisition, growth, and disposition. His clients range from Fortune 100 companies to closely held middle-market operators, private equity funds, and the portfolio companies they own. Raymond has particular experience in the energy sector, including exploration and production, midstream and downstream operations, reserves-based lending, and pipeline joint ventures.

A substantial part of Raymond's work includes serving as outside general counsel to operating companies.
