Sage Knapp is an associate in the Litigation Practice Group and a member of the bankruptcy and restructuring team. She represents public and private companies, partnerships, and individuals in a broad range of complex business and commercial disputes, with experience spanning trial, arbitration, and bankruptcy-related litigation.
Sage’s practice includes all stages of dispute resolution, from pre-litigation counseling through trial and appeal. She has taken the lead in depositions of various witnesses, managed critical discovery efforts, and played an active role in trial preparation and courtroom strategy. Sage also represents clients in mediation and arbitration and has been involved in cross-border disputes and matters requiring nuanced negotiation and procedural precision.
Sage has significant experience advising clients involved in corporate restructuring and insolvency matters, including representation of debtors, DIP lenders, official committees, and creditors in complex Chapter 11 proceedings. She focuses on strategic solutions that preserve value and align with her clients’ business goals.
During law school, Sage interned with the Office of General Counsel at Tulane University and served as an extern with the Port of New Orleans. She was also a Dean Rufus Harris Fellow and a Notes & Comments Editor for the Tulane Maritime Law Journal, receiving the Tulane Maritime Law Center’s award for Most Outstanding Case Note in 2022 and the award for Recognition of Outstanding Service by a Notes and Comments Editor in 2023. Sage also served as the president of Tulane OUTLaw and played a role in creating community partnerships between OUTLaw, its members, and the greater community in need.
Prior to law school, Sage was awarded a Fulbright Grant to Laos, where she collaborated on cultural diplomacy initiatives with the US Embassy and instructed university-level courses on English language and composition. She also completed a nonprofit fellowship in Rwanda, focusing on capacity-building for community development programs benefiting vulnerable youth. Sage remains an active member of the Fulbright alumni network.
