Stephen Capella is an associate in the Corporate Practice Group. He advises clients on a broad range of corporate law, governance, transactional, and related matters.
Stephen represents private and public companies, institutional investors, and other firm clients in a wide range of corporate and commercial law matters, including commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory matters. He is a member of the power generation and transmission team, which advises clients on matters involving the full range of traditional and renewable energy sources.
Prior to his legal career, Stephen was a commissioned officer in the US Navy. He served as a nuclear submarine warfare officer aboard the USS Maryland (SSBN 738), an Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine homeported in King’s Bay, Georgia. Stephen completed several deployments to the Atlantic theater, serving in both engineering and leadership roles in support of the Navy’s strategic deterrence and undersea missions. He qualified as a naval nuclear engineering officer, a capstone certification administered by the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, a joint US Navy and Department of Energy organization responsible for the design, operation, and regulation of the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines and aircraft carriers.
