Tim Scanlan is an associate in the Litigation Practice Group and a member of the Litigation — Insurance Team.
Tim focuses his practice on the areas of insurance coverage and commercial litigation. With meaningful trial experience, including representation of healthcare providers and businesses across a variety of matters, Tim knows the value that a strong advocate can bring to his clients both in and outside of the courtroom. He represents clients in complex commercial litigation and coverage disputes and has taken matters from initial claim through judgment.
Tim also has experience advising clients on matters involving data, privacy, and artificial intelligence. His work includes conducting appellate research related to trade secret litigation, advising clients on privacy concerns arising in transaction-related disputes, and contributing to matters addressing the scope and applicability of Section 230. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, United States (CIPP/US), a credential earned through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Tim earned his juris doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School, with honors, where he was president of the Mock Trial Board, a member of the Moot Court Board, and an editor of the Journal of Energy & Environmental Law.
