Our commercial law experience is significant and includes a wide range of representation. Labor & Employment
Our labor and employment attorneys in Miami defend employers in civil rights and other employment-related litigation, including litigation under federal laws such as Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and their state law counterparts. We also represent companies in connection with administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and state agencies, as well with employers' unemployment hearings. Our client services also include proactive counseling, compliance, and training programs. We design affirmative action programs, separation agreements, and comprehensive employee handbooks and personnel policies and procedures. Additionally, to help employers reduce the risks of lawsuits, union organizing efforts, and other workplace problems, we conduct supervisor and employee training programs. Lastly, our services include assisting employers with obtaining temporary visas for foreign employees and providing employers with general immigration advice, such as I-9 compliance and national origin discrimination.
We provide litigation counsel, advice, and support to many of the world's largest corporations, as well as to prominent local and regional companies. The firm's litigation practice has considerable experience managing and resolving class actions in a variety of substantive areas, including antitrust, securities, intellectual property, banking, construction, and products liability, among others. We are experienced with alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and resolving disputes outside court. We have appeared in proceedings under the auspices of the American Arbitration Association, the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), and the International Chamber of Commerce, as well as under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Arbitration Rules of 1976.
