Labor relations & employment chair, Mark Adams, was noted in the January 10 issue of the Daily Labor Report in the article, "Justices Nix Reviewing if State-Law Claims Can Advance After EEOC Loses Federal Case." On January 9, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to consider whether employees can proceed with preexisting state law age bias claims after the Equal Opportunity Commission already has lost a federal case on their behalf. (Vines v. Univ. of La at Monroe, U.S., No. 04-1615, cert. denied 1/9/06). Adams, Jennifer Anderson, and Ginger Gundlach represented the University of Louisiana at Monroe in this matter.
