Jeffrey Birdsong, Alysse McLoughlin, and Katie Quinn, partners on the state and local tax team, presented at the NYU School of Professional Studies Tax Conference July 24–25, 2024, in New York. Their presentations were featured in the Intermediate State and Local Taxation Program.

Jeff's presentation "Local Taxes" addressed the differences between state and local tax regimes and provided guidance on how to navigate those differences. Alysse served as a moderator for the question-and-answer session "Round Table with Tax Department General Counsel and Senior Audit Management," which covered current state tax issues and the tax policies that arise in the implementation of state taxes. Katie participated in the panel presentation "Apportionment: Sourcing Issues and Alternative Apportionment," which discussed challenges in apportionment and the use of alternative apportionment methods when statutory formulas do not accurately reflect the taxpayer's presence and activity in the state.
