Steven F. Casey, a partner in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group in the Birmingham office, recently completed a jury trial in federal court in Newnan, Georgia, in which he obtained a verdict in favor of a nationally-known energy drink manufacturer. The plaintiff alleged that consuming a half-bottle of the client's energy drink caused her to suffer a mild heart attack, and that the product's warning labeling was inadequate under Georgia law. Jones Walker’s client contested both causation and adequacy of the warning contained within the labeling.
