Jeff Birdsong, a partner on the state and local tax team in the New Orleans office, spoke on the “Credits and Incentives in the Digital Economy: Driving Innovation and Managing Risk” panel at the Council on State Taxation (COST) 2026 SALT in a Digital World Workshop on March 3, 2026, in Burlingame, California. Jeff examined how digital platforms can utilize state tax credits, incentives, and grants aimed at incentivizing companies to foster investment, innovation, and support emerging industries. He also focused on the compliance challenges, documentation requirements, and interplay between state and federal programs when applying for these credits and incentives.
