LAFAYETTE, La.—Jones Walker announced today that Douglas C. Longman, Jr. has joined the firm as a partner in the Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group, and will practice from the firm's Lafayette, La. office. Mr. Longman was formerly a named partner of Longman Russo, APLC, which merged with Jones Walker earlier this year.
"I am pleased to join Jones Walker," said Mr. Longman. "Unfortunately, delays caused by client conflicts kept me from joining Jones Walker at the time of the merger, but I am excited about finally being able to join my former Longman Russo colleagues and serving clients as part of the Jones Walker family."
Gary J. Russo, a partner at the firm and the head of Jones Walker's Lafayette office, added, "We're thrilled to have Doug join Jones Walker, and his arrival couldn't have come at a better time. Jones Walker is positioned for growth in the Lafayette market, and Doug is a critical addition to our litigation team. His experience enhances the range of services we offer clients in Lafayette and throughout the Gulf South through our network of offices and client teams."
Mr. Longman's practice focuses on maritime, products liability, and other commercial litigation matters. A 1978 graduate of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, he is admitted to practice in Louisiana and Texas, and handles litigation in other states as well.
