Admiralty & Maritime partner J. Kelly Duncan recently made presentations at both the 18th Annual Southern Gaming Summit and the 2011 International Masters of Gaming Law Spring Conference. At the Southern Gaming Summit on May 4, 2011, Mr. Duncan presented “Commercial Gaming Regulatory Update,” one of several speeches made by renowned legal experts. Other topics covered included, “The Uninformed Regulator and the Steep Learning Curve” and “Online Gaming: Succeeding in an Evolving Legal Landscape.”

At the 2011 International Masters of Gaming Law Spring Conference, Mr. Duncan served on a panel for “Compliance: The Concept the Application and the Limits.” The panel examined the difficult area of gaming advice in a time of conflicting jurisdictions, as well as the responsibilities of compliance officers when confronted with questionable demands by regulators.
