Marc Hebert, a partner in the Corporate and Maritime practice groups, and Jim Kearns, special counsel in the Maritime Practice Group, were quoted in the article "Maritime Attorneys Offer Best Practices For Operators Before, After An Incident" published by the Waterways Journal. Marc advised operators to take a holistic approach in the establishment of an operator safety management system to better response and communications with regulators and others after an incident occurs. Jim reminded operators to communicate early with insurance underwriters, lenders, and lessors to assist in the claims process and to meet other reporting requirements.
