The article outlines the Jones Act and the benefits and protections it provides for maritime employees, as well as the potential for legal cases to emerge regarding the spread of this virus in maritime employment conditions. Marc recommends the inclusion of language by Congress in any future coronavirus relief package that provides liability protections for Jones Act employers who use best practices and comply with CDC guidelines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
