Managing Partner William H. Hines was recently named to 10/12 Magazine's list of "25 Most Powerful People on the Corridor." The 25 honorees from along the I-10/I-12 corridor in Louisiana were selected from a pool of more than 100 nominees. A panel of 16 judges, many of whom are also leaders in the community, selected the honorees, who were profiled and featured in the May 2009 issue of 10/12. According to the publication, those selected to the "25 Most Powerful" list "have demonstrated that they have what it takes to make things happen—not just in their own communities, but in the linear city in which we live known as the corridor."
Mr. Hines is actively involved in several civic organizations throughout the Greater New Orleans Area, in many cases as chairman or a member of these organizations' boards of directors. He works with organizations that focus on economic development, government, education, the legal profession, social service, cultural initiatives such as performing and fine arts, and the sports industry. Mr. Hines is cited as "one of the leading economic development catalysts in this state," as well as for his role in Jones Walker's expansion in Louisiana and across the Gulf Coast to become the nation's 163rd-largest law firm.
