NEW ORLEANS—Jones Walker is pleased to announce that William H. Hines has been re-elected by the partnership as Managing Partner of the firm.

Mr. Hines will serve a second consecutive five-year term as Managing Partner, effective January 1, 2011, and ending December 31, 2015. Mr. Hines has served as Jones Walker's Managing Partner since 2006.

In addition, New Orleans CityBusiness has named Mr. Hines to "Driving Forces," a list of the New Orleans area’s 30 most influential people involved in economic development.

Since the beginning of his first term as Managing Partner, Mr. Hines has led Jones Walker through a period of strategic growth and success to become one of the largest and most prominent regional law firms in the Gulf South. Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Mr. Hines helped resurrect the firm's New Orleans office as well as the city of New Orleans, and he continues to be cited as a key leader in the economic development of the region. Several national legal publications have recognized Mr. Hines for his leadership and legal acumen and have noted his influence within the state of Louisiana.

Mr. Hines has also guided Jones Walker through several mergers that resulted in the firm's geographic expansion, including a 2008 merger with Miller, Hamilton, Snider & Odom LLC that resulted in Jones Walker's expansion into Alabama. The firm's 2009 merger with Longman Russo, APLC in Lafayette, La., as well as the firm's 2010 merger with Walston Wells & Birchall, LLP in Birmingham, Ala., resulted in the growth of the firm's existing offices and practices.

Under Mr. Hines' leadership, Jones Walker has grown from approximately 200 attorneys and 6 offices in 2006 to 300 attorneys in 11 offices in 5 states and the District of Columbia today.
