Adrienne L. Ellis is an associate in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group, and practices from the firm's New Orleans office. Ms. Ellis is a 2011 graduate of the Columbia University School of Law, where she was awarded her juris doctor degree. While in law school she was Notes Editor of the Journal of Law and Social Problems and worked on the Journal of Gender and Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Davidson College, where she graduated cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Luke Falgoust is an associate in the firm's Business & Commercial Transactions Practice Group, and practices from the firm's New Orleans office. He is a recent graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law, where he received his juris doctor degree. While in law school, Mr. Falgoust served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Ernest M. Robles of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. He is a 2008 graduate from Louisiana State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Finance, after spending a summer abroad as a Budget and Control Department intern with Atlantic Copper, S.A. in Madrid, Spain.
Micah Fincher is an associate in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group, Intellectual Property, and practices in the firm's Baton Rouge office. He is a recent graduate of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, where he was awarded his juris doctor degree, cum laude. He also holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Engineering from Louisiana State University. Mr. Fincher's previous experience includes an internship in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and an externship in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has worked with the Technology Transfer Offices of Louisiana State University's AgCenter, Louisiana Tech University, and Tulane University.
Thomas R. Hooks practices out of the firm's New Orleans office as an associate with the Business & Commercial Transactions Practice Group. He is a recent graduate of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, where he received his juris doctor degree and a Diploma in Comparative Law. While at LSU, he served on the Board of Editors for the Louisiana Law Review and was the recipient of the W. Lee Hargrave Award. Mr. Hooks' previous experience includes acting as research assistant to Lucy S. McGough of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center and a judicial extern with the Honorable W. Eugene Davis of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. In addition to his juris doctor, he holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he graduated summa cum laude.
Paul A. Humbert is an associate in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group, and practices from the firm's Miami office. He received his juris doctor degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he was a member of the University of Florida Journal of International Law, the Journal of Technology, Law and Policy, and was a member of the Corporate and Securities Litigation Moot Court Team. He also holds a Master of Business Administration and a bachelor's degree in Communications Studies. Prior to his graduation, Mr. Humbert worked as a law clerk at Jones Walker and the Broward County Office of the Public Defender.
Jonathan E. Love practices as an associate in the firm's Real Estate Practice Group from the firm's Baton Rouge office. Mr. Love was awarded his juris doctor degree and a Diploma in Comparative Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University. In addition, he holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Baylor University. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Love worked as a legislative intern for Congressman Jim McCrery of Louisiana and as a summer associate for several law firms in the area, including Jones Walker. He has also worked in Cape Town, South Africa for Ikamva Labantu, a non-profit organization, and in Kingston, Jamaica teaching an entrepreneurship class to Jamaican graduate students.
Daniel H. Purdie is an associate in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group, and practices from the firm's Houston office. Prior to joining Jones Walker, he served as an intern for the Honorable Jane Bland, Justice for the First Court of Appeals of Texas, and as a law clerk at the National Western Life Insurance Company. Mr. Purdie received his juris doctor degree from the University of Texas School of Law where he was a staff editor for the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas, and Energy Law. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Utah, where he graduated magna cum laude.
Tyler J. Rench is an associate in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group, and practices from the firm's New Orleans office. He is a 2011 graduate of the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he placed second in his graduating class and received his juris doctor degree, summa cum laude. While at Loyola he served as a member of the Loyola Law Review and was a Moot Court National Team Oralist. Prior to law school, he attended Tulane University where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Spanish. Mr. Rench has previously worked for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana as an extern to the Honorable Sarah S. Vance and as a law clerk. Additionally, he collaborated with Loyola College of Law Interim Dean, Kathryn Venturatos Lorio, on updating her Louisiana Civil Law Treatise on Successions and Donations.
Graham H. Ryan practices in the firm's New Orleans office as an associate in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Group. Mr. Ryan is a 2011 graduate of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University where he was awarded both a juris doctor degree and a Diploma in Comparative Law. While at LSU, he was the Online Editor for the Louisiana Law Review and served as a member of the Chancellor's Advisory Board. Prior to law school, he received a Bachelor of Science in Finance, summa cum laude, from Louisiana State University. Before joining Jones Walker, Mr. Ryan was a judicial extern to Justice John L. Weimer of the Louisiana Supreme Court where he worked closely with the senior clerk in composition of writ pool reports. He also studied at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 in France, where he received an award for his studies on the constitutional aspects of the European Union.
Hilary L. Velandia is an associate in the firm's Business & Commercial Transactions Practice Group and a member of the Health Care Team. She earned her juris doctor degree from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2007, and was Order of the Coif and Articles Editor for the Kansas Law Review. Ms. Velandia earned her B.A. at the University of Kansas in Spanish. She practiced at a law firm in Oklahoma for four years before moving to the Miami office of Jones Walker.
