Admiralty & Maritime Practice Group partners, Marc C. Hebert and Jefferson R. Tillery, and associate, C. Barrett Rice, recently tried a Jones Act suit in federal court in New Orleans, Louisiana to Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon. During the trial, the attorneys proved that the vessel in question was seaworthy and that the employer was not negligent. Numerous liability and damage experts testified on both sides and ultimately Judge Lemmon issued a decision finding no liability on the part of Jones Walker’s client.
