Laurie Riley, a partner in the Labor & Employment Practice Group in the Miami office, and Mary Ellen Jordan, special counsel in the Labor & Employment Practice Group in the New Orleans office, published the client alert "COVID-19 Brings Temporary Changes to I-9 and E-Verify Procedures," featured in the Employment Law Information Network daily newsletter. Laurie and Mary Ellen provide an update on the I-9 and E-Verify procedures that have changed due to COVID-19, such as employers no longer being required to review an employee's identity and employment authorization documents in person, and being able to accept expired documents from new hires to satisfy List B identity verification.
