Neal J. Sweeney, a partner on the Construction Team in the Atlanta office, recently published “Compelling the Surety to Arbitrate—‘Not So Fast, My Friend’” in the Summer 2018 edition of The Construction Lawyer, the journal of the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law. In the article, Mr. Sweeney discusses recent case law on whether sureties can be compelled to arbitrate when the bonded contract, but not their bond, requires arbitration.
