Ryan represents a variety of clients in the construction industry, ranging from owners and general contractors to design-build contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. His legal practice focuses on arbitration, litigation, and mediation of large construction and infrastructure project disputes for a variety of issues, including breach of contract, delay, lost productivity and disruption, and construction defect claims.

While earning his juris doctor from Baylor University School of Law, Ryan was a member of the Baylor Barrister Society, the Business Law Society, and the National Environmental Law Moot Court competition team. He also served as a founding committee member of the Baylor Law Real Estate and Construction Organization, which is a group he cofounded for students interested in pursuing careers in construction law.
