Amy Vazquez is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. She focuses on energy litigation, energy and natural resources matters, oil and gas law, eminent domain, and complex business litigation.


Amy serves clients in the energy and oil and gas industries, concentrating her practice in the upstream and midstream sectors. She provides her clients with support during project development, as well as representation with regard to litigation and regulatory matters.

Amy serves as co-leader of Jones Walker’s Energy, Environmental & Natural Resources Industry Sector infrastructure team. Her practice frequently involves assisting midstream operators in development of projects, including assistance with real property acquisitions, easement negotiations, and eminent domain.

In addition, Amy has represented upstream operators (onshore and offshore) with a variety of disputes related to enforcement of contractual and property rights. Further, Amy advises clients as to best practices and litigation avoidance. Finally, she represents commercial clients in a wide range of litigation matters.

Following graduation from law school, Amy served as a law clerk to the Honorable David Hittner of the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas and then began her energy practice at Baker Botts.
