Jeff demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the real estate market and an ability to navigate complex transactions with ease. He is well versed in the entire life cycle of a real estate project, from the entitlement process to development, operation, and the eventual sale.
One of Jeff’s key strengths is conducting and overseeing thorough real estate due diligence processes. In negotiations, he is adept at crafting agreements that protect his clients’ interests while promoting mutually beneficial outcomes.
Jeff has a strong track record in handling diverse real estate projects, concentrating on industrial and mixed-use projects, and providing comprehensive real estate legal support. In the realm of industrial projects, he served as counsel to the Department of Energy (DoE) on a prominent venture involving a large graphite project. He also provided legal guidance and support to the DoE as a major funder, overseeing all real estate and Louisiana law issues. Additionally, Jeff represented an international lender in one of the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility projects. Another significant engagement is his representation of the Bank of China in a major methanol development project. He is involved in several ongoing projects, including a solar project and a sustainable aviation fuel project, where he is providing legal support and guidance to facilitate the development of renewable energy infrastructure.
Jeff served as lead counsel for the redevelopment of St. Vincent’s Guest House in New Orleans, overseeing all legal aspects of the project, including acquisition, entitlement, construction contracts, construction financing, and securing tax credits. He played a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the project. In addition, Jeff successfully handled the acquisition of the historic Columns hotel and served as lead counsel on the development of a sister ground-up hotel.
