Marybeth is well known for her ability to work collaboratively and effectively across political and ideological divides. She has advised 10 different House committee chairs on funding and legislative priorities and has worked successfully with elected and appointed officials from both major political parties throughout her career. This ability to find common ground and build consensus enables her to help clients remove roadblocks and achieve practical, effective solutions.
Marybeth has shepherded legislation on more than 24 annual appropriation bills, continuing resolutions, and emergency funding measures. She excels at both responding to rapid legislative developments and helping clients strategize proactively. Her extensive network of professional relationships throughout Washington, DC, combined with her firsthand understanding of the formal and informal processes needed to negotiate bills and policies in Congress, makes her an invaluable resource for clients navigating federal budgeting and policy issues.
Prior to joining Jones Walker, Marybeth served as a professional staffer for the House Committee on Appropriations, where she managed member requests, mark-ups, amendments, continuing resolutions, and floor action for the Financial Services and General Government bill and other legislation.
