Etienne Balart is a member of the firm’s Admiralty & Maritime practice Group, focusing his practice on litigation matters. His experience spans construction litigation, insurance coverage, maritime personal injury, multi- and single-claim limitation of liability actions, third party state and OCS platform claims, vessel collisions, applications of anti-indemnity statutes, and cargo claims. Mr. Balart’s practice also includes drafting and reviewing contracts in the oilfield industry, primarily vessel charter parties and towage contracts, as well as advising clients of regulatory compliance issues and vessel documentation and certification issues.  He has practiced law since 1997, including one year of service as a law clerk to Judge W. Eugene Davis of the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
