CenturyLink/Qwest Deal, Jones Walker Featured in Corporate Counsel and The American Lawyer

Jones Walker was featured in the July/August 2010 issue of The American Lawyer's "Big Deals" section, and in the August 2010 issue of Corporate Counsel magazine's "Deals & Suits" section. Jones Walker represented CenturyLink (formerly CenturyTel) in its acquisition of Qwest Communications International Inc. for $22.4 billion in stock and assumed debt. The two companies expect to close the deal within a year, pending shareholder and regulatory approvals. Jones Walker's attorneys who represented CenturyLink in the deal include:

Jones Walker acted as co-counsel with Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. Jones Walker and Wachtell Lipton also represented CenturyLink in its $11.6-billion (including debt assumption) acquisition of Embarq Corporation, completed in 2009.
