Members of the firm's Gaming Industry Team participated in the International Masters of Gaming Law's (IMGL) 2026 Spring Conference on April 30, 2026, in Arlington, Virginia. The conference was kicked off by Marc Dunbar, a partner in the Tallahassee office and current president of IMGL, during the "Opening Remarks & Welcome." Laura D'Angelo, a partner in the Lexington office, moderated and Dan McGinn, special counsel in the Tallahassee office, participated in the "What Does Online Wagering on Horse Racing Have in Common with Kalshi and the Tribes?" panel, comparing and contrasting recent developments in litigation around prediction markets and online horse racing betting and how it may impact state regulators. The panelists examined recent court decisions involving online wagering platforms and explored whether these cases could shift regulatory power away from states and reshape how gaming is overseen nationwide.
