Henry O’Connor is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group, where he advises clients in the full spectrum of commercial transactions.
Drawing on more than two decades of leadership experience in the legal, real estate, and financial services industries, Henry advises investors, owners, operators, developers, borrowers, and lenders on myriad transactional matters, including purchases, sales, mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and other financing matters, as well as management issues.
Henry is the firm's Director of Strategic Growth. He also serves as chair of the Hospitality Industry Team and leads the real estate team.
Prior to joining the firm, Henry served as president of the Mobile, Alabama, market for Trustmark National Bank following its merger with BancTrust Financial Group, Inc. At BancTrust, he served as executive vice president – director of corporate strategy and coordinated the merger with Trustmark. Before this, he was a managing director of IPC Capital Partners, a private investment firm focused on real estate and other alternative asset investments.
Henry began his career in private practice. During this time, he served for nine years as managing member and a name partner of the law firm he co-founded in New Orleans, focusing on commercial real estate acquisition, development, and finance. Henry was also a partner in a privately held developer of select-service hotels in Louisiana.
Henry is deeply involved in the business and civic communities of greater Mobile and holds numerous leadership roles in a variety of organizations throughout the region focused on economic and workforce development, education, and environmental issues. He is the co-founder and chairman of the board of Alabama's first charter school.
