Zachary Montgomery is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group and a member of the firm’s mergers and acquisitions and private equity teams. He is also a member of the firm’s Equine and Gaming Industry Teams.
Zack’s practice focuses on complex business transactions, including public and private mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity investments, capital raises, special situation strategies, and joint ventures. In addition to his transactional work, Zack advises senior management, investment funds, family offices, and boards on general strategic, governance, and corporate matters.
In parallel with his corporate practice, Zack brings a personal connection to the equine industry through a strong family history of thoroughbred pinhooking, breeding, and racing. Having grown up working in the industry, he understands many of the business, investment, and operational considerations unique to equine enterprises. This background complements his broader transactional practice and provides valuable insight when advising owners, breeders, investors, and other equine-specific stakeholders.
Prior to joining Jones Walker, Zack was an associate in the Houston office of an Am Law 10 firm, where he assisted clients with a broad range of complex M&A transactions, restructurings, and corporate governance matters. His practice now spans a variety of industries, including energy, infrastructure, maritime, technology, entertainment, equine, gaming, real estate, and professional services.
While earning his juris doctor degree, Zack served as an intern for Judge Lance M. Africk and Judge Sarah S. Vance, both of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
