Avery B.
Pardee

Position
Partner
Office
New Orleans

Avery Pardee is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. She focuses her practice on criminal defense, internal and government investigations, and commercial litigation.

Avery has significant experience defending and advising individuals, publicly traded companies, private businesses, and other entities with respect to internal investigations, government investigations, criminal prosecutions, parallel proceedings, and compliance with a host of federal and state regulations and laws. She regularly conducts internal investigations, assists with responses to government investigations and subpoenas, and helps develop, implement, and update compliance programs.

Avery advises entities with an international presence in anti-corruption and anti-bribery investigations under the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the UK Bribery Act, and similar laws. She helps clients implement comprehensive compliance measures, including developing compliance policies, conducting internal investigations, recommending remedial measures, and, where appropriate, formulating defense strategies.

Avery also advises colleges and universities on internal investigations, Title IX compliance, and other sensitive matters.

At trial and in appeals, Avery represents individuals and entities accused of white-collar crimes, sexual misconduct, and other alleged violations of law. She also conducts significant post-conviction work, representing the wrongfully convicted or wrongfully sentenced to secure relief after direct appeal remedies have been exhausted.

Having worked on these and other issues from a variety of perspectives, Avery draws on lessons learned and best practices to effectively represent her clients in virtually every forum, including the court of public opinion.

Avery has a robust commercial litigation practice that includes False Claims Act qui tam litigation, shareholder derivative and corporate governance litigation, civil RICO litigation, fraud, and other complex commercial disputes. She is an aggressive litigator who works with clients to understand the various outcomes and risks, formulate effective litigation strategies, and efficiently protect their interests and achieve their litigation goals.
